Manuel A. Jorge

Manuel Anthony Jorge, 92, died peacefully on Friday night March 24, 2017 in New Rochelle, New York. He was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and long-time friend. Of Spanish and Arab decent, Manuel was born on December 29, 1924 in San Francisco, California, to Clementa Castillo and Manuelo Jorge. He was a World War 2 veteran who proudly served in the US Air Force until he was honorably discharged in 1950. He ran his own small accounting and financial advisory firm first in the Bronx, and then in Queens, New York. He was a quintessential and colorful New Yorker who embraced the boroughs of our great city to enjoy all cultural and artistic institutions and venues. He was an avid traveler as well, relishing places in Europe and Central and South Americas, a dancer, a connoisseur of music from Big Band, Latino, to Classical, and a coffee aficionado. He had passion and wit.
He is survived by his children, Yasmin and Jorge Jorge and his grandchildren, Benjamin Wolf and Sydney Lauren Gorski; and Gabrielle Lillian, Alexandra Collette, Eva Marie, and Cara Mia Jorge. He is predeceased by his wife, Lilly.
He is now an eagle (his favorite animal) soaring to new adventures in Heaven.
Visiting will be on Monday 4-8pm at George T Davis Funeral Home LLC, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY 10805. Burial of Cremains is scheduled for Monday, April 3rd at 11am at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
