William Hochberg

William Hochberg passed away peacefully in New Rochelle, NY on September 17, 2017 at the age of 86. Bill’s children Mona and Bradley and his grandchildren John, Janine, and Tessa will carry on his legacy and lessons. Mona will forever think of him as a father that was always there, any-day, any-time, any-place, any-where.
Bill was born, one of five, on April 8th, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York. He was an engineer and a builder of homes. Above all, he was devoted to family and his beloved wife, Estelle. His family will remember his intelligence and wit as the winner of countless family debates and scrabble games. His grandchildren will pass on his legacy: John will pass on his ability to teach anyone anything with more patience, and an ability to fix anything no matter how broken it is; Janine will pass on his enormous heart, his kindness and wisdom, and above all his unconditional love; Tessa will pass on his unflappable thought process and rugelach recipe.
A few additional words from his son Brad:
There were times I thought he was being,
Just a little bit hard on me.
But now I understand he was making me,
Become the ‘man’ he knew that I could be.
And everything he ever did,
He always did with love,
And I’m proud today to say I’m his ‘son’.
When someone says I hope I get to meet your dad,
I just smile and say “you just did.”
A graveside service will take place on Monday September 18th at 1:15pm at
Mt. Moriah Cemetery
685 Fairview Avenue, Fairview NJ 07022
