Daniel Charles Iarocci

Daniel Charles Iarocci, 93, of Stephenson Blvd., New Rochelle, died Feb. 14.
A lifelong resident of New Rochelle, Mr. Iarocci was born Nov. 13, 1926 to Donato and Santa (Spada) Iarocci. He served in the Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War Two on LST-821.
He worked for the City of New Rochelle’s Parks and Recreation Department for 28 years. He was a park grounds man at Davenport Park and worked part time at Five Islands Parks after he retired in 1993.
In his youth, Mr. Iarocci was a sales clerk at Ware’s Department Store (where he met his future bride, Pauline Manfrida) and Jack’s Army and Navy Store in New Rochelle.
He was a member of the local Elks Club for more than 50 years and was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 58 years; a son, Gary; and a brother, Matthew. He is survived by a son, James P. (Jim) of Madison, Conn.; a daughter, Annette Clark of Oneida, NY; a brother, John of Norfolk, Conn.; granddaughters, Julie Iarocci, of New Rochelle, and Amanda Eisinger, and he husband, Paul, of Kirkville, NY; great-grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Samantha Eisinger of Kirkville, and Jacob Clark of South Carolina; and many very special neighbors.
Calling hours and a short service will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18 at George T. Davis Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals-on-Wheels of New Rochelle and the Wounded Warrior Project.
