Joyce Anderson

Joyce Elaine Knibbs Anderson, age 85, died Friday, April 10, 2020 at the Beth Abraham Center in Bronx, New York.
Joyce was born on November 20, 1934 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies to the late Leonard and Gladys Edwards. She worked at Sally Brassiere Factory and then at Bellevue Children’s Hospital before migrating to the United States in July of 1979. Joyce worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Memorial Sloan Kettering for sixteen years before retiring in 1996. She was called back to duty and worked for Dr. Henry Kissinger’s mother before a final retirement. She was a faithful and diligent worker throughout her years of working.
In retirement, Joyce loved travelling, especially taking cruises, and enjoying time at the casino. She was always happy to win the jackpot at the penny machines. She was often seen completing a word search puzzle using a red pen. Yes, the pen had to be red!
Joyce loved her family and was a good mother to her children. She was always available to provide good advice and support, no matter the day or hour. She believed in God and practiced her faith faithfully. She always reminded others that with God, all things were possible. She had a wonderful smile that could light up a room as her dimples seemed to twinkle.
Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Kenneth Knibbs, Dave Knibbs (Yvonne), Tyrone Knibbs (Lourdes), two daughters, Nadine Haywood (Tyrone) and Janice Ferguson, eleven grandchildren, Tene Knibbs, Andre Knibbs, Khalilah Knibbs-Behlin, Shonari Knibbs, Nakiyah Knibbs, Jamal Knibbs, Tyrone Knibbs II, Kemar Ferguson, Kianna Ferguson, Aliyah Haywood, Janelle Wallace, six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Vincent Anderson (England). Joyce was the last of five siblings to make her way home to glory.
The George T. Davis Funeral Home, LLC, has been entrusted with arrangements.
