Anne K. Dinkel

Anne K. Dinkel

Anne K. Dinkel passed away peacefully on October 20, 2021 at the age of 96. She is survived by her daughter Carol Dinkel Winiger of Switzerland, with husband Peter and three grandchildren Heidi, Susanne and Philip and two great-grandchildren, Ruby and Samuel; and son Kenneth B. Dinkel of Armonk, NY, with wife Nancy and two grandchildren: Stefan and Kenneth Jr. Her husband of 57 years, Philip Sr., and son Philip Jr. predeceased her.

Anne was born on August 20, 1925, one of eight children, to Stefan and Maria Bauer of New Rochelle, N.Y. A native of New Rochelle and graduate of New Rochelle High School, she worked as an executive secretary in New York City and served as the Corresponding Secretary of the Catholic Women’s Club of Westchester. She had a flair for business and worked for many years in real estate in Larchmont – culminating in running her own business, Anne K. Dinkel Realtor. A trailblazer in a male-dominated industry she graciously lent her support to the young upcoming agents new to the field. She was passionate about her work and grateful for the trust and respect of her clients.

Anne was also one of the longest members of the Larchmont Shore Club, joining in 1956. She enjoyed playing tennis, loved swimming and was a dedicated “swim team Mom”, driving her children and their teammates to swimming meets all over the county and helping out at the events. She took great pleasure in seeing her children, and then grandchildren, enjoy the seaside in Larchmont and after retirement, in Chatham, Cape Cod.

Anne had a wonderful independent spirit, was adventurous by nature and loved traveling. During her many visits over the years to her family in Switzerland she journeyed all over Europe and also delighted in visiting countries further afield such as Malta, Morocco, and Turkey. She had a long and happy life and will be remembered as a woman of deep faith. She was a fun-loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and good friend.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 19 from 4–8 p.m. at George T. Davis Funeral Home, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle, NY 10805. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 20 at the Church of St. Patrick, 29 Cox Avenue, Armonk, New York 10504. Bottom of Form
