Cyril Catedrilla

Cyril C. Catedrilla joined his Creator on February 23, 2022 at 2:20 AM in Mt. Sinai, New York City.

Funeral services will be held on March 04 (Friday) and March 05 (Saturday), from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.  A mass will be held to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 05 at 3:00 pm at George T. Davis Funeral Home.  The viewing and visitation will be at the same venue at 16 Shea PI , New Rochelle, NY 10805.

Cyril was born on July 15, 1975 and raised in the Philippines.  He was the third child of Edwin and Josefina Catedrilla.  He graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas, Philippines.  He worked for a while in the Philippines as a Physical Therapist before moving to California in 2002 and worked with a nursing home in San Pedro, California.  He then joined our parents in New York in 2010 and worked at Theradynamics in Bronx.  He had a 2-year stint at Burke Outpatient Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy before he transferred to Visiting Nurse Service of New York (VNSNY) until 2021.  During his stay in VNSNY, even while confined in the hospital, he was awarded the VNSNY ESPRIT Awards last November 2020.

Everyone is fond of calling Cyril “Tabz”, due to how cute and chubby he was.  He was the firstborn son in our family; thus, he was spoiled and beloved by those around him.

An avid gourmand and cook, he would indulge both sides of the culinary spectrum, enjoying good food and drink, while making the same with his mother, Josefina, on the weekends. Cyril was also a man of many hobbies and pleasures, from collecting figures of his wide spectrum of interests, attending comicons, to diving deep into entertainment such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, and even Spongebob Squarepants. He had a childlike sincerity in sharing his light and life to others; he’d give of his time, his likes, his blessings, and his love.

Cyril is survived by his loving parents, Edwin and Josefina Catedrilla, his siblings, Grace, Jurizz and Ge

rard, nephews and nieces – Kalvin, Kassandra, Mika and Kyle.
