In Loving Memory of Anthony Grimaldi

 

Anthony was born in East Harlem on September 19th, 1935, he graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1953. He moved up to City Island shortly after that where he met his future wife, Betty Grimaldi.  They had two children, Helen Grimaldi Vaughan & Joe Grimaldi.

“Tony” is survived by his wife of 65 years Betty Grimaldi, his two children Helen and Joe, his Daughter-In-Law Bernadette Galvin Grimaldi and his four Grandchildren, Nicholas Vaughan, Joseph Grimaldi, Matthew Grimaldi & Jenna Grimaldi. He is also survived by his brother, Freddy Grimaldi.

Tony was a Salesman in the Printing Business for over 40 years. He retired at the age of 70 and was retired for 17 plus years. He loved going to Atlantic City, and Las Vegas to play Black Jack, he was quite the “Black Jack Player”. He was a huge Yankee fan, he followed them since 1949 when he went to Yankee Stadium for his first time.

He coached the Little League on City for many years and was always telling stories about his days of coaching.

 

Family meant everything to Tony, he was the most generous and loving person to his family and friends, he always had kind words for everyone that he met. He was an avid walker and would walk up and down City Island Avenue several times a day, he was always smiling and always said hello to people he would pass by.

 

Tony is predeceased by his Mother Madeline “Helen” Grimaldi, his father Michael Grimaldi, his brother Michael “Mickey” Grimaldi and his Son-In-Law Stephen Vaughan.
